How to Master the Wind Part 2 – PGA TOUR 2K21 Gameplay Tutorial – Aiming – Data for Each Wind Speed
In today’s tutorial video, I will teach virtual golfers how each different wind type in the game affects the ball in regards to left and right movements, using data from many shots. Keep in mind these numbers are averages, so they will not be exact. There are so many variations in wind angles, and therefore it is very difficult to be exact. However, these numbers will help you get closer. See below for example calculations
Calculations
1. “Average Wind Aim Multiplier” x Wind Speed (MPH) = how many clicks or flicks of the aim stick are needed to compensate
2. What is a click/flick of the aim stick?
-
- A quick flick and then release of the stick either to the left or right
- If the wind is blowing from right-to-left > aim to the right
- If the wind is blowing from left-to-right > aim to the left
Example calculations:
1. Straight side wind Medium wind speed- 7 mph side wind to the left- 5 iron – wind multiplier for aim =2.6:
-
- 2.6 x 7 = 18.2, so, I need to aim 18 click or flicks of the stick in the opposite direction of the wind, in this case to the right ((because the wind is pulling my ball to the left)
2. Cross tail wind: very high wind speed: 19 mph from left to right cross tail wind, 6 iron, wind aim multiplier = 1.60
-
- 1.60 x 19 mph = 30.4; so, I need to aim around 30 clicks to the left (because the wind is pushing my ball to the right)
